Lambrusco Salamino

commentNo Comments

The name of this vine comes from the shape of the grapes: small, cylindrical, compact and elongated. It seems to have origins in Modena and, certainly, the production center is in Santa Croce di Carpi: it is no coincidence that you can also find it with the name Lambrusco di Santa Croce. It can also be known with the names Lambrusco Galassi and Lambruschino. The harvest times are similar to those of Lambrusco Marani. According to some, Lambrusco Salamino combines the best characteristics of Lambrusco di Sorbara and Lambrusco Grasparossa. It has an intense and full color but not excessive, it presents aromas of ripe fruit and red flowers. Acidity and tannin are present, but in the right balance. It has good body, without overdoing it and just enough flavor.
