Originated in Parma, it is now widespread especially in the foothills. We can find it towards the Po river in the province of Reggio Emilia with centers in Boretto and Gualtieri. It is a fairly early variety, with a thick skin, with color notes that reach blue-black. Therefore, dark-colored Lambrusco wines with markedly purple reflections are obtained, with fragrant and vinous aromas, quite fruity and with pleasant floral notes. The body is robust and sustained, it has a good content of tannin, alcohol and a marked acidity.
